It is with great interest that I apply for the Nurse position at Pillbox Hill Medical Center. As a recent graduate at the College of Nursing in Los Santos, I am excited at the prospect of joining your team. Your values reflect the reasons I decided to become a nurse. Namely, to treat every patient equally and fairly. As a person of color who grew up with both the African-American and the Latino culture, I know how important it is to give everyone equal treatment. I see it as my personal duty through my actions to make sure this message is delivered to a greater audience.
Through my college, I had the opportunity to gain clinical practice experience at Mayham Medical Center. I thoroughly enjoyed making a positive impact on quite a few patients and their families. I built very solid relationships within those years that I still, to this day, maintain. I acquired skills in patient assessment and gained a solid foundation in providing care that focuses on every aspect of a person’s health, whether it be emotional, physical, spiritual and psychological.
Furthermore, the experience that I gained during that time helped me find my passion for gynecology in particular. During my clinical practice, I was responsible for five patients in the gynecology department, monitoring their treatments and vitals, as well as providing empathy and consultation. I am confident that my capability for empathy, my sensibility towards different cultures and my hard-work and ambition will make me a great asset to your team. Moreover, I had a great mentor who has helped me learn the core values of a good nurse, that being: respect, teamwork, empathy and the passion to help people.
I have had the desire to help people ever since my grandmother spent one month in a coma during my teenage years, but the clinical practice specifically strengthened this desire. In addition to that, I have been helping out at youth programs which allowed me to work with people from different cultural backgrounds. We organized activities, planned community events such as barbecues and counseled regarding substance abuse. These skills, coupled with my compassion, patience and patient advocacy are what I offer as a new graduate RN. I believe that your practice will be the perfect place for me to grow and provide amazing care.
My application can only tell you so much about my motivation and qualifications for a position as a registered nurse. I would welcome the opportunity to further discuss my background and motives to join your team.

Aaliyah Harris is a twenty-eight year old woman who was born and raised in South Central Los Santos to an African-American father and a Mexican mother. She has four younger siblings who she helped raise with her father being absent mostly due to work and her mother taking care of her sick grandmother. Due to her bilingual upbringing she is now fluent in Spanish and has adopted the culture. Being raised in South Central Los Santos wasn't easy, however, it shaped Aaliyah into the person she is. She feels deep compassion for minorities and the troubled youth, which is why she continues to get involved with a youth program that aims to help the young community in South Central. After her grandmother experienced a serious stroke and fell into a coma, her mother shifted her focus and energy more towards taking care of her grandmother. During that time, Aaliyah both helped taking care of her grandmother whenever she could and pretty much raising her younger siblings. Aaliyah developed a passion to help others and despite wanting to enroll at college to pursue a nursing degree, her grandmother's critical condition did not allow her to do so. In 2018, Aaliyah was finally able to enroll at college to pursue her bachelor degree in nursing. She managed to finish her studies within four years and is now a fresh graduate after passing the NLCEX exam. During her time at college, her passion to help others grew and she's now eager to use her acquired skills in a hospital where she can work with professionals.
In her free time, she likes to work out and do photography.
