    3.3) Challenges & Skills Gained:
During my time with the ambulance service I learnt that EMT patient care is more than just BLS and ALS procedures, it's a time to give your best support and non-judgmental words to your patient, despite whatever they think they might have done or think as themselves, and more as the name suggests 'Patient Care'. Whether they are fully awake and alert or deeply unconscious, I have learnt to speak to my patients with compassion and warmth. I believe those skills would help me in the medical field should I be accepted.

As for challenges, the hardest one would've had to have been not knowing if my some of our patients actually returned to good health after dropping them off at the hospital. Often, we would sit in between calls thinking about how they would heal and if there was anything else I could've done better. We would receive another call before and repeat the same process again.

6. MOTIVATIONAL LETTER
  • 6.1) Submit your motivational letter down below, describing why you wish to join us, why we should choose you rather than someone else and why the qualities required from this job correspond to you: (max. 800 words)
I loved my time with the ambulance as an EMT and do not regret working as one for two years, but personally I would like to get into more personal care and see a patient recover fully, or at least do and give my very best for the outcome of the patients that come along to us for aid.

Lately with our family moving cities I thought I would use this opportunity and try get into hospital work. I would be using the knowledge and experienced I had with the two years of EMT service and bring those skills onto the bedside, along with a personal touch of mine which would be patient experiences and treatment rather than purely medical do-how as I feel like that is sometimes overlooked. I do my best to see my patients as not just another body to work on, but someone who might be having their worst day and rely on the caregivers for physical and emotional support.

Thiago was born into Las Venturas by his Venezuelan mother Maria and his American father Nico. He was raised in a middle-class area with an open and non-strict type of style. Being allowed to go out with his friends at a young age and being able to go out to parties without supervision. Whenever he got home, he was always greeted and treated with love and care from both of his parents. His life really wasn't too difficult or meaningful compared to the average teenager of the same age.

His caring parents had inspired him to give back the warmth and love he had received and realized how important being it is to be treated with respect and how such a thing sought after by so many. And so, upon research and hard thought he decided upon being part of an Ambulance crew since he figured such a job would give him the opportunities to give care to the public. A few months before graduation he had enrolled at the closest NREMT certified EMT school which also happened to be where would eventually work as an EMT.

While working as an EMT is where his heartache began. He loved going to patients and helping them the best way he could, even during emergencies where the patients were stressed out. Whether in pain or straight up unconscious. But it was when the patient was dropped off at the hospital, especially those times where he isn't able to do much except go back into the ambulance and prepare for the next is where he started thinking about the future of his patients. With how the medical system worked he wasn't able to keep in contact his patients and how they are recovering. This has caused him to stay up and unable to sleep and he would often go outside his station and sit under the shadows, unfocused as he thought about all of his past patients and how he will probably never see them or know if they recovered.

After their family moved into Los Santos he used the opportunity to look into a more in-hospital career, eventually looking to study nursing and applying.
