      To Whom It May Concern,

I've spent the last 13 years of my life in service to this country and upon returning home I felt the need to continue my service but on a different path. I have spent more than half my adult life providing medical care to troops overseas along with on the home front, it feels only natural to continue doing what I have grown to love.

My sense of duty and commitment set me apart from most of my peers given I have known loss and seen what may come of helping someone on one of their darkest days. Being apart of Pillbox Hill Medical Center would allow me to continue the training I have had but on a more personal level with the citizens of San Andreas.

During my time of being a Combat Medic, I learned vital skills to assist the hospital in it's everyday operations. I have been trained to keep my calm and handle stress by the best of the best while also maintaining high standards for the care I can provide. Being deployed taught me that sometimes saying less and doing your job helps someone more than being a comforting voice in their ear along with that following orders can save not only your own life but the lives of others around you. Being deployed and having to deal with medical emergencies has also taught me how to quickly assess situations which most people would crumble under pressure given there may be so many things going on around them, they find it hard to focus on the task at hand. But even with what I have been through, I still have retained how to fill forms out properly and file them along with placed myself into a routine to maintain my skills are at peak performance.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

      Kai Haoa

Kai was born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii with his loving parents. As Kai got older and began watching the news with his family, he began to see how much conflict plagued the world and how much help some places needed. He always felt he would do best serving a purpose to help others in need. During his sophmore year of high school, his school was having a career drive which is where he first met U.S Army Recruiter, Corporal Rodriguez.

Corporal Rodriguez and Kai spent a little time talking where he explained the benefits of joining the Army. Kai explained to him his need to help others which is when Rodriguez began explaining to him all the career paths the Army could offer him including being a medic. However, given Kai was only a sophmore, he had a bit of time before he could enlist given his age but it didn't stop him from going home and telling his parents. At first they were heavily against it, saying it was too risky and that this Corporal was lying but Kai was set. The next two years seemed to pass by so slowly but Corporal Rodriguez was there throughout it, helping Kai prepare for his graduation and enlistment even without his parents blessing.

May 15th, 2011 finally came around and Kai was officially a high school graduate. By May 27th, 2011, Kai was enlisted into the U.S Army and on his path. His parents furious that he would do such a thing on his birthday but it's what he wanted to do since he found out about it two years prior. But he knew the road ahead of him was going to be difficult and test every ounce of his strength. Somewhere around June 2011, he receives his induction letter, ASVAB test, and medical exams... by early August 2011, he was being shipped off to boot camp. Everything was happening so fast but slow at the same time. By the end of boot camp, he had met his future unit which was the 173rd Airborne Brigade which is also where he met his closest friend, Christopher Vitale.

By August of 2012, Kai found himself and Chrissy as he was being called, getting shipped off to Afghanistan for Enduring Freedom 13. It was their first deployment and something they had trained for but it was nothing like they expected. They spent most of their tour on base doing paperwork until their unit rotated in for Patrols which dealt with mainly driving around and just watching the perimeter of the base. But it also came with a lot of news about people they met in passing not making it back which is when Kai first began experiencing loss. Even though he didn't know these people like he knew Chrissy, it still pained him to know brothers in arms were not going home on their own two feet. Their deployment lasted until March 2013 and they were sent to Italy on standby. This would be their new home for the time being. Kai liked the area and the people but he longed to be back in Hawaii where his family was however he knew the dangers of the job, vowing to never leave his brother Christopher on his own.

April 2014, orders come down the chain notifying their unit that it's their turn to be deployed again. However, this wasn't going to be front line like 2012 was. They were being deployed to the Baltic and Poland to assist in training the troops in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Poland as a necessary response to the Russian Invasion in 2014 of Ukraine. This was something far different than he was used to but it was a decent change of pace and he got to meet a lot of interesting people during this deployment. He also got to work on a lot of his skills which had gone unpracticed by teaching the other troops techniques.

Fast forward to 2023 and lots of sitting on bases, Kai's re-enlistment discussion hit the desk. He hesitated on what he would do and confided in his brother in arms, Christopher. Christopher was done with serving and wished to get away from it all. Kai had completed his vow and knew it was time to move on from this life. Both men signing their papers and being shipped back to the states but Kai didn't stay long. The two ended up in Los Santos but Kai was on the next flight out to go back to his family in Hilo, Hawaii. It had been far too long since he had seen them. However, he made sure Christopher knew he'd return eventually and in January 2024, Kai sent word to Christopher that he would be returning to Los Santos in search of having his own life. However, he had continued practicing his medical skills which is when he was informed to apply for the Student Nursing program at Pillbox Hill Medical Center.
