Growing up in the Jamestown Projects, I was subject and witness to a lot of gang violence in my life. I lived with my absentee father abandoned by my mother, which left me solely to care for my younger brother and sister. You could say I've been caring for people since I was born, and ever since I was a teenager my dream has been to become a nurse - to help as many people as possible. I wasn't afforded the luxury of higher education out the gate, I had to fight for it, a situation made even more of a struggle when my daughter was born as I was left to care for her on my own. All I hope to achieve is change at least one life regardless of race or wealth, a popular quote from the jewish talmud coming to mind: "Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire."

Daniela Rosales was born into the depths of the Jamestown Projects, in Rancho. Her father was a hard worker, putting food on the table for his family of four until Daniela's mother abandoned them all for a car insurance salesman in Hawick. This led to his crippling gambling addiction and drinking problem which would regularly lead to food being taken out of his children's mouths. At the age of 15, Daniela was drawn into the (at the time) tagging crew TGS by her childhood friend Austin Cardenas, Daniela stepping away from that lifestyle before the crew would evolve into the street gang Traviesos Gangsters 13. Daniela graduated high school though she struggled through it, taking care of her younger siblings and suffering mental and physical abuse from her gangbanger boyfriend until finally he'd get sent to a federal penitentiary while she was pregnant, the relationship ending as her boyfriend 'let her go' instead of forcing her to wait. Daniela would be brought into further struggle with the birth of their daughter, forced to juggle time between her job at a beauty salon, being a single-mother, and studying her way through a cheaper online nursing course to obtain the degree that would enable her to achieve her teenage dream; becoming a nurse.
