  • ROLE:
    • Emergency Room Technicians play a crucial role in the fast-paced environment of the emergency room. They assist medical professionals in providing immediate care to patients with various medical conditions or injuries as well as complete administrative duties ranging from keeping the Emergency Room clean and sterile down to arranging appointments and patient files.
    DUTIES:
    • Emergency Room Technicians assess patient conditions, prioritize care, and assist medical professionals in providing immediate treatment. Duties include monitoring vital signs, supporting with medical procedures, comforting and aiding patients, operating emergency medical equipment, maintaining clear communication within the healthcare team, and ensuring accurate documentation of patient information. Their ability to stay calm under pressure, collaborate effectively, and adapt to dynamic situations contributes to the efficient and compassionate care of individuals in critical conditions.

  • REQUIREMENTS:

      • A high school diploma or equivalent is typically the minimum educational requirement.
      • Required to have certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and may need to obtain additional certifications, such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
      • Must not have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor in the recent past.


2. METHOD OF SELECTION

  • STEP I. PRELIMINARY JOB APPLICATION — This is the first step in applying for a job as a Emergency Room Technician for Pillbox Hill Medical Center.
