As an intern, I was responsible for getting patient histories and conducting their examinations for preventative or diagnostic reasons. I conducted meetings with patients and their families to discuss their conditions, treatment options, and possible outcomes. To Pillbox Hill Medical Center Hiring Committee,
I got into the medical field to make a tangible positive impact on the lives of those around me, not just while they're visiting the hospital but beyond that when we have a positive impact on their quality of life. I'm driven by the stories of those around me and ensuring they get to keep on telling those stories. This desire motivates me to do the best I can, and present myself in the most approachable yet professional light, so as to ensure our patients stories are success stories.
My educational experience at the University of Florida College of Medicine, as well as the accompanying internship at the UF Health have prepared me to pursue this drive, and deliver on it, and my hope is that it will be under the guided leadership and mentorship of the staff at PHMC.

Played for a while a little over a year ago, hoping to get back into it now.

Have been roleplaying for over a decade although I can't put a concrete number on it right now. Started out in Multi Theft Auto on valhalla gaming and have played on and off throughout the years as time allows.

Michael was born to a very demanding family, whose drive to see him succeed often alienated him from them. His mother was a kindhearted woman from Cuba and his father was an American local and a hard-working lawyer at a local law firm. He rarely saw his father and, when he did, he was often drunk and belligerent; although he never resorted to violence in his outbursts. Despite its shortcomings, this environment fostered a sense of independence at an early age which allowed him to mature more rapidly. As such, he was diligent with his coursework and, if he wasn't, the watchful eye of his mother and the looming threat of a flip-flop to the back of the head kept him in line. Beyond this, he learned empathy and compassion from his mother, who would go out of her way to help others in need. It was frustrating to see his mother seemingly taken advantage for her generosity, but she would always tell him that it is not for her to judge the intent behind the need, only help where she can.
His natural affinity to the academic carried him through his early years, allowing him to coast through his classes without too much effort. This gave him more free time to himself which he often spent in the outdoors, exploring local state forests or participating in other outdoor recreation such as fishing and kayaking. During this time he developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the environment as a whole, leading to a more conservative approach to many of his daily practices to minimize his impact. Although he didn't judge others harshly for their personal decisions, he would go on to volunteer in beach cleanups and other outreach activities to better his community.
Medical school was a new experience, one which required Michael's full devotion unlike any had before. It took a while to adjust to this new way of life, where studying and sleep where the highlight of a day. This change in routine and lack of free time led to one of the most difficult times in Michael's life, where he was spiraling towards depression. It was at this time that he started Scuba Diving, discovering a whole new world where he could clear his mind and just be in the moment. He would continue to pursue this interest throughout medical school, often just once a month, as a stress relief method. Upon completing medical school he took an intern position at UF Health in Internal Medicine, where he was exposed more closely with patient care and their outcomes. He saw firsthand the impact he was having on the lives of others and knew his pursuit of medicine was the right one. This renewed vigor in his career choice was almost cut short, by the death of his mother.
After the death of his mother, Michael realized he had little ties to the city he was born in. He reflected on the fact that he barely knew his dad and only had bad experiences with him and, without his mom tying them together, decided to move across the country to Los Santos for a fresh start in a naturally beautiful region far from home. He hopes to ingrain himself in the community and become involved, fostering a greater community for the future. - 8.3.1)
