Having an extremely successful academic career at Columbia University and an amazing internship at NYU Langone, I am motivated to pursue a career that challenges me and allows me to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of medical science, especially in surgery. ​
My motivation for a career in surgery is both a professional ambition and a personal mission. From an early age, I have been driven by the desire to help others, initially contemplating a career in veterinary science. However, the human connections in medicine drew me towards medical school (rather than veterinary school), where I discovered a deep-seated passion for surgery. The satisfaction of hands-on problem solving, whether individually or as part of a team, resonates strongly with me.
Throughout my clinical rotations, I had the privilege of observing and learning from the proficient surgeons at NYU. Beau Ford grew up in NYC to a set of parents that were in the medical field. Originally from Britain, his parents moved to the States shortly before he was born, as job opportunities led them there.
Growing up, Beau knew his passion was in the medical field, as it was the only thing he knew (even though his parents may have influenced this). His passion as a young boy was to be a veterinarian to somewhat break out of the family mold, but within his schooling, he couldn't help but find empathy in human connection, which led him to go to Medical School and eventually become a doctor with the aspiration of becoming a world-renown surgeon.
Beau has always focused on his mental and physical health and was finding that NYC was too chaotic for him. He decided to move out west to San Andreas to make a life for himself in a place where the weather is a bit more consistent and he isn't plagued with the chaos that NYC brings.
As a motivated and competitive individual, he puts his all into everything that he does. There's not a challenge he doesn't take on, and he cares greatly for humankind. Beau leads to empathy and while he can get lost in his work most of the time, he tries to balance his life out with the small pleasures.
