Hello, I am writing to express my interest in the Surgical Resident position at Pillbox Hill Medical Center. To begin I am a daughter of immigrants, though I am of white origin and cannot ever truly understand the struggles of those who come from POC backgrounds, I can understand the struggle of immigrants. Leaving everything behind and sacrificing everything that was in that country for a foreign one is something I see through my parents. Los Santos being the beautiful city that it is, has people from different backgrounds as well as different stories, many of them similar to my families. I believe that I can relate and better serve my patients if given the chance to, as I could understand their struggles since it is something my family went through as well. Chemistry and medicine has always been what I wanted to pursue, when I was younger I wanted to be a chemist more than anything. With that love and passion for chemistry, I started studying it in my junior year of high school so I could achieve the goal that excited me at the time. But as I gotten older and grew in wisdom, I realized that what I wanted to do was to help people. Although my education is not picture perfect nor is it conventional like 80% of doctors, I believe that it is another way to help me relate to my patients-- as understanding their circumstances and things they have to go through medically can really help their process. When it comes to why Pillbox Hill Medical Center should choose me rather than another candidate, is because of my background, my identity, my personal passion for medicine, my journey and my history of completing the goals I want to achieve.

Lacey Devlin was born into a rather religious catholic family, her parents are both immigrants from Ireland seeking a better life for their children. Born in Los Santos, and lived a pretty normal childhood Lacey Devlin was a pretty typical teenager in many standards. Yet her family's religion and personal beliefs always played an important role. Devlin's mother was a stay at home wife and caretaker of the family, watching that as Lacey grew up she did not want to end up in the same position. So from a young age she developed a want for learning and the need for having more control over her life. With her background, Lacey married early and soon moved in with her husband while she pursued her education. Lacey's education was partly fueled by her love for chemistry, in which she started early on in high school. In the future she sees herself owning something for herself such as a practice and having a family of her own.
