AN OUT-OF-CHARACTER GUIDE TO INCREASE CHANCES OF EMS HIRE!
  • Introduction:
    • We want to help you show the best of you and your character for ideal process of application and interview. To help give some pointers of the things we strive for in recruitment, as well as what we look for in our applicants, we will provide a couple of key points to help you understand of what we would want of the characters applying for PHMC EMS. While these are not rules, following these key points will significantly increase your chances of hire.

We strive to portray an American Private EMS Service, with players portraying an average paramedic you might talk to in the street. In order to help you get a few points above for the hiring process, here are a few key points to consider for your Private EMS Character.

      Things we strive for:
      • Character is born and raised in the US is preferred. (Based off US. Demographics in EMS)
      • Character that sticks in one career path. (eg. Not jumping from mechanic, judge, cook, medicine, pilot.)
      • Talk to patients more, rather than focusing on super-emotes.
      • Character is born and raised in the US is preferred. (Based off US. Demographics in EMS)
      • An in-game roster of 60% Male, 40% female is preferred. (Based off US. Demographics in EMS)
      • A non-traumatic character background is preferred. (We portray the neighborhood paramedic)
      • Your character will be taught SA EMS. DO NOT FOLLOW RANDOM AGENCY METHODS.
Things we'd like to stay away from:
      • Roleplaying an incredibly special background. (Nobel prize winner, astronaut, test pilot, Military Command, etc.)
      • Characters with debilitating health conditions that realistically affects field work.
      • Characters having a lot of in-game assets and properties.
      • Players not focusing on portraying the neighborhood paramedic.
      • Characters trying to get into a lot of specialties without linear progression.
      • Players that don't enjoy staffing ambulances or being dispatched to assignments. (it is 90% of our roleplay after all)
    Truths of Medical RP:
    • The single most important aspect in any in-game medical roleplay scenario is to understand that NO ONE else will likely know what you are emoting, what you are doing, planning, what the consequences will be, what affects drugs have, what vitals may show at any time, etc. We simply cannot expect people to go through medical school just so they can go ahead and roleplay in a gaming server. Nor can we expect people to actively research what any of what we say actually means.

This means you should understand that we will expect you to learn and understand in-game medical terms and in-game procedures so that we may appropriately simplify our emotes, and actively attempt to interact with the average player in the server. Be the fun in roleplay!
